Project Description
Office Refurbishment at The Loom
An extensive refurbishment to this stunning 1892 Grade II Listed building for Helical (Whitechapel) with Blackburn & Co and Duggan Morris.
The Loom, one of London’s few remaining wool warehouses has been reinvented to provide modern and vibrant workspace in Whitechapel, an area that very much contrasts ‘new’ with ‘old’.
The Morris+Company design pays homage to the building’s heritage and respects its long industrial history.
A number of clever interventions have been introduced to reflect the needs of a modern office and it has recently been shortlisted for the BCO Refurbished / Recycled Workspace.
It is a real success for Helical Bar.

“Another collaboration with Duggan Morris Architects on a historic warehouse building. The finished product seamlessly combines modern finishes with the existing fabric creating a striking juxtaposition for a modern workspace. The team delivered the project in an occupied building that threw up plenty of surprises during construction and Helical Bar are delighted with the result.”
