Project Description

48-50 Broadwick Street

Conversion of a Grade II Listed property from office space to private residences at 48-50 Broadwick Street, Soho for Great Portland Estates plc.

Built as separate houses in the early 18th Century, they were later combined into one property and occupied for commercial purposes.

The properties have now been reinstated as single dwellings each offering family accommodation over five-storeys.

Earlier unsympathetic works and additions were removed, and the buildings were reinstated with particular care and attention to the elements of the building fabric that are listed.

Client: Great Portland Estates plc

Partners view

“The works, designed Ian McArdle Architects breathes new life into these two properties, reinstating them back to their original design intent.

Careful refurbishment of the building fabric and envelope give the buildings much greater street prominence, whilst the internal fit out provides a high-quality finish in which to escape the bustling surroundings of Soho.”
